Audi A3 2.0t Oil Pressure Light

Hi all, so I was just driving my car as you do, I get a warning light on my car, not a dash light but in the central screen saying oil pressure low with an animation of an oil can...

Car seems to be driving okay though? Any ideas or preliminary checks I should be taking with this?

yeah, stop driving it till it's been checked out

You can change the sensor yourself and see if that fixes it. Don't drive the car until the fault has cleared though. If the pressure really is low you could do a lot of damage to the engine.

Update:

Hi all thanks for the advice... I think first port of call is check the oil which I've done after a long car wash, the oil is well over the limit... So now it's going about draining the oil?

My question is, I've done 3k miles on it already, is it worth replacing the oil filter at the same time ?

I have no idea how easy or hard oil draining or changes are so any help would be massively appreciated !!

Complete: managed the oil change with a friend who had a trolley jack... thanks all for the advice
