    Hi Guys,

I have a A3 2.0 FSi and I am wanting to get a few bits done on it , can anyone please give me some advise on what manufacterers and companys I should go for on the following?? ..

    * Coilovers
    * Remap (I know I can only get a max of like 15bhp from this but hopefully will be a better set up)
    * Induction (pretty sure I will go with a K & N but again advise please.
*Exhaust... I want a nice sounding exhaust not a boy racer type and have heard Milltek are pretty good?

Lastly I currently have 18" split rim BBS on and they are in need of a refurb any good companys in the surrey area that anyone can recommend?.

Thanks Guys really appreciate any advise on this .

Thanks S3RYE .. its good that they do a stage 1 and 2 but had no idea that I was so limited on how much bhp I can gain.. to spend near 800 pound for 20bhp .. that sucks... you know what else I can do to get near the 200 bhp and over?.. thanks

hi just thought i'd add my two pence. i've just sold a 1.6 and bought a 2.0T FSI. for a good month or so i was considering going down the route you did, getting an induction kit, exhaust and a stage 2 remap but a lot of people told me that it's not worth it, and the £2k odd i'd be spending on all the mods for the additionlal 25bhp i'd be getting would be much better spent on a new car. at the time i wasn't sure i could afford one (though my dad very kindly gave me a loan to help me out) but even if he hadn't and i still couldn't afford one i'd agree that the advice i was given is sound. you're much better off saving the money until you can afford a faster car than plugging money into this one that you're not gonna get back. just be glad you started with 150bhp, and not 100bhp like me :p

Hi....on that engine, you are not going to get 200bhp without resorting to new cams etc etc,and by the time you've done all that, you will wish you'd bought a TFSi in the first place,as this will have cost you more.

As everyone else on this and your other thread has advised, getting a lot more power out of a N/A engine is expensive, and adding a Milltek exhaust,a remap and an induction system is going to make it sound different, but it isn't going to go much quicker....and it will have cost you well over £1k.

The exhaust alone will set you back up to £1200 for the entire system, and the gains on a non-turbo engine will be small.

Coilovers = hard arse ride, get Koni FSD's & Eibach Pro springs from Damian@dpm best of both worlds
Remap = pointless exense on an FSI, you wont see a significant difference trust me, dont waste your dough
Induction = Dont bother, just use oem or green panel filter, it will do sod all to your engine
Exhaust = also a complete waste of money unless you want bragging rights to having a milltek as you have a non turbo car so back pressure on your engine size/setup wont be an issue

Pointless advise, why does everyone think a milltek is a messiah, he has a non turbo car & his engine is small with no pressure issues at all, milltek will do sod all for his car except bragging rights to have a milltek.

Simon will tell him the same knowing him @amdsurrey, I know him & he will say its a waste of money.

BEST ADVICE ANYONE COULD GIVE YOU ATM MATE, TAKE IT & THEN CONSIDER YOUR LIST, OTHERWISE SPEND IT ON YOUR FUTURE KID/S

Ewan speaks the truth, smoother acceleration would be very minor, but power would be sod all difference imho, so overall waste of money.

Dont bother, Simon should advise it wont be worth it.,

Then sell the car & buy a TFSI

    Yes, buy a TFSI

    At last

Feck me, thats the best post I've read on here for ages, you should be knighted lmfao, absoloutely 100% agreed, either keep FSI as is or sell & buy TFSI & then look at mods, but tbh you will be so impressed by stock TFSI you wont wanna map it for a little while, ok maybe a week. :eyebrows:

Agree with NHN, having an N/A engine myself most things dont make a real difference so not really worth doing. Better getting bigger alloys, tints etc if it doesnt already have them or again as said above, get a turbo'd car!
Just enjoy what you have though!

just to reiterate what Sarah's already said, spend your money on making your car look nicer if anything. maybe lower springs and some nice alloys? or spend your money on RNS-E. that way when you come to sell your car you can take those bits off and you won't have lost much by the end of it. there are other ways to make your car nicer without making it faster.

also don't get me wrong, i adore my new 2.0T but there was something to be said about extracting that last 10% from the 1.6 that was also fun. find a good B road and you'll notice that speed doesn't matter all that much and you can still have an awesome time.

thank you all so much for your input on all guys and girls I really apprecaiate it I am now going to do the following (after yopur advise)

*Upgrade the suspension first of all as already have a nice set of 18's (but may upgrade to a nice deep dish splits) (does anyone know how much I will be looking at for this I know that you said Koni FSD's & Eibach Pro springs are a great set up from Damian@dpm ?

    * Secondly I may do a front end upgrade has anyone done this and if so can you please pass over any reccomended garages? and may do some other upgrades on the looks...

    * thirdly ... I will enjoy the car and then maybe look at getting a TFSI haha.. thanks again

Sod the engine, keep it as it is and enjoy the fuel economy.

Get some coilovers - good quality ones like KW's as these can be then used on a 2.0TFSI if you do buy one in the future.

Best to do mods to the car that can be transfered over to a new car.

I'd go along with the Eibach pro springs and Koni FSD recommendation. The 2.0FSi is never going to be a quick car but you can transform the way it drives by replacing the standard springs and shocks. In terms of cost, I paid £140 for the springs and £420 for the Konis from Larkspeed which was the best price I could find online recently. Fitting was about £320 which included new top mounts. Not cheap but money well spent IMO.
