Audi A3 170 BHP New Remap and DPF delete and car is hesitating in 3rd and 4th

    Hi All, To provide an update, since having all of the new parts put onto the car, i took the vehicle for its stage 1 remap today and it is STILL hesitating :(

    Well you just found the problem.. The car was fine after it came back from Audi. You said it was ready for stage 1 and since doing so, its back to hesitating..

    It is the map dude, you even said it yourself, just without realising it and working it out.

    Exactly - i tell the tuner this and i get.... oh its your inlet manifold....then its 'its your pistons' and then its something else each time! £400 for a headache...would have preferred to have gone on public tv and been humiliated by jimmy saville!

    Quick question - your maps...are they elite maps? because this is supposedly where my map came from

    What was needed to be tuned on your maps? was it fuel?

    Mine is a strange juddering around 2.5k-3k if you absolutely hoof the **** out of the car in 3rd, 4th and a little in 5th.

    what gets me is you went back a second time? I'd be asking for my money back, mention trading standards and go somewhere else.

    Slight issue as i got a load of my mates to get their car remapped at the same time and in order to get discount, it all had to be cash

    Cash is still money though? Anyone that sells something cheaper "for cash" is hiding it from the books of course.

    Yeap - just didnt realiase that i would have all of these issues. I had been recommended by him from quite a large, well reputable company in Bristol who do lots of VAG work.

    Can they not just take it off and give a refund? It shouldn't matter if it was a group buy, if it gives faults then that is good reason to remove it and refund your money.

    have now done an awful lot of reading on this and it seems like it could now be either the glow plugs, injectors (supposedly have previously been changed), oil in the fuel, MAF or tandem pump fault

    It's your map, end of. Get it removed, get your money back & go to a tuner with a good reputation for working on these cars (there's plenty on the forum).

    Glow plugs only help when starting the car and do nothing above 5 degrees temp, injectors would cause faults thoughout the rev range, oil in the fuel blocks the fuel filter over time but as it burns like fuel it wouldn't cause a misfire only at a certain RPM, if the MAF was gone you'd get get sweet FA power over a certain RPM in any gear.

    Hi All,

    Its been quite a long winded exercise but i have now found out what was wrong with the car - the map!

    Basically the tuner had the car over boosting which was causing the car to gain boost, loose it, gain it again and again loose it.

    Best bit after all....the guy who did the map (avon tuning - bristol) says the map is still fine! chopsy!
