Hi new to the forum so bear with me not sure if iv posted in the correct place.
Having a problem with my central locking on my 53 plate a3.
Mechanism works fine and all doors unlock when I put the key in the ignition. Took her to the garage as I expected the key simply needed re coding. After about half hour the guy had no luck so ran a full scan and discovered a fault with the instrument cluster and said it needs replacing. Apparently the key is linked but the car isn't receiving the signal through the instrument cluster
After some reading up seems like there may just be some coding problems and he wants the 300 quid he quoted to change the cluster. Has anyone got any advice or had a similar problem with this? Any help appreciated.
Also got a fault with the alarm, not sure if the two are linked but occasionally the hazards come on and stay on for about 2 mins
