Audi A3 1.4 140 ps S-Tronic

Hello all,

I have just blindly ordered a audi a3 s-Tronic C.O.D without a test drive. I am just wondering what the s-Tronic gearbox is like in the 140 ps car. I have heard reports it is jerky in town. Please give me honest answers. Also what model of gearbox is used in the C.O.D. And has anyone tried this car with the c.o.d with the s-Tronic box. Many thanks

If you look at the sheer number of stronic/dsg vag cars on the road, the number that have had issues is very limited, the newer stronics are better & more reliable imho, seamless changes, I think you'll like it.

I tried the 1.4 140 ps DSG Golf, and the gearbox was very disappointing, and was feeling very much like a tradition automatic gearbox. I think it's due to the 7 speed gearbox, a lot less smooth than the 6 speed one, and maybe also the engine combination.

Hold on, didn't they do a recall recently for the 1.4 engines with stronic, wonder if this comes under that banner as the stronic is sublime mate, really is when working as should.
