Audi A/S3 8P dashboard speaker removal help?

Hi all

Been scratching my head how I can get to the speaker under this grill so I can disconnect the wires as I am pretty sure the speaker is faulty and responsible for my sound gremlins I am experiencing.



I have removed the stereo but cannot see any wires running off from the main loom towards this speaker. Has anyone had any experience of getting these out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to get something thin between the side of the mesh grill and the dashboard. I used a blunt dinner knife haha.
Then once that is lifted off, if memory serves me right, there's 4 bolts to undo and it lifts up and you disconnect it there.

It's been a while since I did it, so forgive me if it's not 100% accurate.
