Anyone have any advice on what to look out for when buying?
poor build quality volvo and ford switches/interior equipment
any Audi is better built and will last longer
they dont even drive good in my opinion
anything that goes wrong on them is major surgery
i worked on them so go out and buy a R8 or RS6
Vantage?? Or too slow?
Spend your money wisely, lol. Buy a nice R8. Far nicer looking car.
............and I think Mazda MX-5 plastic interior door handles. Now looking a bit desperate. VERY slightly off topic - noticed numerous modern day AM convertibles in London these days reminding me of the Thatcher era when every banking prat and City whizz baby owned a Golf GTi. Suddenly a modern Aston Martin is not so special any more and of course the business is failing.
Sorry but a lot of that is utter ****.
I've had nothing major go wrong in all the time I've owned my Volante. Obviously Audi is better built, but you lose all the charm and character that the Aston has. The Audi's interior is such a depressing place to be after sitting in an Aston, and to say it's poor build quality is laughable. All the switchgear looks nothing like anything I've ever seen in any Ford or Volvo too.
Not to mention the sound of the engine.... well no contest, obviously the glorious V12 burble from the DB9 wins.
Go and buy an R8 if you want something fast but with no character, get a DB9 if you want something beautiful that will always put a smile on your face!
Here are some pics of mine:
Here's a little clip to show the sound of it too
I think you might be thinking about the DB7 rather than the DB9 because the DB9 is just beautiful and extremely well put together.
