Weighing up the pro's and cons I think I'm starting to trend away from these, I wanted them in time for ADI but also I need a set of wheels and tires.

I've seen these and they are a bit of a bargain, with a fair bit of poke and spacing and spraying the centers satin black and polishing the lips - 18" BBS LM STYLE WHEELS AND TYRES 5X100 AUDI VW SEAT | eBay

I know they're reps, but they do look super smart.

Jardo, do what I did and keep an eye out for part worn tyres. I got 4 almost new Yoko A048 tyres for £120 and they're normally £170 a tyre new!!!

Reps or not, good looking rims.

I would not rush in to something with tyres.
Only cause it comes to safty of you, your passengers and every one else on the road.

Agree with westy, wait and get part worns if you're in no rush.

My rear light is a blackburn Mars 3.0 I believe. It's brilliant! Nice and bright and never failed yet despite all the gash weather we've been having. It's as tight as mrs crazy88's bum.

I am sure those puppies will be decent too Westy.

Be as excited as you like bud, I am!

I should have the car by 4 so I'll take a video of the noise on the way back and see if I can get my bro to take some rolling shots. And then I'll try and get some good ones up before it gets dark

Did you have any form of decent light?

Sorry but flashers are wrong and should not be allowed on the road, unless you're a copper or some form of emergency service.

Flasher or decent light should be aimed correctly as well, not as my face!!

Scott it sounds like the flashers are doing they're job, getting the cyclist spotted ;)

I'll make sure they dont blind anyone!

I've just put about £200 worth of cycling gear in my eBay watch list. This cycling lark is meant to be saving me money!

Crazy, what do you wear for cycling in the winter? I've seen a lot of fleece lined lycra stuff like this:

Agreed Westy, I am still going to use flashing lights until they are either banned or create proper cycle lanes. And there's nothing that can stop me.

As for winter cycling, I wore shorts every day, no joke. However, I wore two pairs of socks (at least) and up top I used to wear a base layer and a t-shirt. I also have a buff (yes they really are called that) which is like one of those motorbikers scarfs (it's like a tubular scarf you can pull up over your face.

I also use snowboarding wrist type fleesy things as when cycling your wrists are always exposed as long sleeve tops slide up your arms. Cold wrists = unhappy crazy88!

Oh, and a beenie under my helmet too :) Gotta keep warm

I've been reading up on winter clothing and think i need to invest in some waterproof overshoes, a fleece lined suit, and long fingered gloves.

I thought the flashing lights was banned.

I might start driving around with my lights flashing so cyclists can see me and stop blaming me for using the road that they want to randomly swerve in to. :)

I miss cycleing to work. lol

Sod doing it in the winter.

I was doing a lot of swerving this morning but only because of all the fecking holes in the road along with raised drains and overhanging branches from trees that need cutting back!

I'll save a fortune if I cycle all winter too

I only cycle 3 miles a day, and it is literally all downhill going to work so proper easy, but coming home is shiz though. And I easily save £40 a month on the price of gay buses. (straight buses are even more)

I always understood that flashing lights on their own are illegal, they need to be accompanied by a static light to comply with road traffic legislation.

I buy a lot of my cycling clothing secondhand from ebay, it's a bit hit and miss with sizes etc sometimes, but you can always flog it on if it doesn't work for you. I just bought a waterproof/windproof Montane top, £80 new for £12, and it's in as new condition. Rolls up to the size of an apple too so you've always got it with you.

Have you tried to eat it? :undwech:I'll get my coat

As for clothing sizes, yeah they're a pain. My SPD shoes are a size 11 when i'm normally a 10. They were rediculously tight at first too, but ohhh so comfy now

I figured there would be a joke made, but my money was on it being ipod related!

Shimano shoes always size up small for me.

I bought some bib tights for the winter and they are a large but they are a bit too big for me so I may sell them on and get some medium ones. I have some large cycling tops and they fit a dream ;)
