Hmm Im looking down the barrel of 4k this month...
eBay is a drug IMO, it's so hard not to!
Just got to site, 4 cat5 runs through a mahoosive warehouse. Not impressed at this time in the day with a 2hr drive afterwards.
It's not like i've even got much left to buy but you feckers have got me looking at WMI again
Literally nothing left
Did you get a loan for the build? I bet it's well over your initial budget?
Nope, I hate the idea of being in debt/ having a credit card, It's all cold hard work and doing nothing in the middle.
Well over initial budget by about 2k now LOL
But it's getting done properly and that should count for alot
Money well spent....
LOL, they are interviewing for my job here in Cheltenham to replace me (as was supposed to happen back in January) so I can go back to my day job....
I wonder what prompted them to do that?
Mwhahaha, maybe I am better than I thought, they will move me back to base and give me a 10 grand pay rise.
Well surely you had some saving! I cant believe you've earned £4K this month!
LOL, I save loads of money, and then blow it on stuff.
Like TTs for example....
Oh yeah no way I earned 4k this month, I had enough money to the side for my original budget and I've just been working in the meanwhile to afford the difference.
Buying the mk2 didnt help if I'm honest lol
That rent boy work is helping then....
Same with the Clio I bought, however that's on the Bay now so money shall be returning which is always nice....
Not as much as you'd imagine, and it burns when I pee...
Yeah stuff turning it into a race car I want the cash back!
Well I'm hovering over a £750 purchase for mine - upgrading the Alpine processor to the new H800 combination - not quite 4K though.
One of these with the matching controller Alpine - Processors - PXA-H800

I reckon since I've owned the S3, it's seen about £7K of my dollar disappear into it.
Now THATS a depressing thought.
That looks epic!!
I want these:
Audi-Sport.net - Audi revolutionises handling in the snow with its Carbon Ski concept
yum those a schweet.
£800 on suspension
£550 on brakes + £150 on new pads
£1k rod change
£1k clutch etc. labour
£1.5K replacement (****) burned up gearbox and new clutch, flywheel and coverplate
And thats without thinking about it for longer than 10 seconds
Don't think about it dude. It's better that way
Yeah, it's like not looking at the mpg screen. 4.... 4! better slow down
Theres alot of money to be saved in labour fo sho.
Agreed, however I don't do it myself for the money saving, that's just a bonus. I do it because (not all the time) I enjoy it, and it gives me something to do. I don't have time for many other hobbies these days, so in reality, my car/s is it.
There are downsides though, for example when something goes wrong, it falls squarely on your head, as opposed to being able to take it back and say 'Hang on a cotton picking minute here....'
There is a degree of satisfaction when you stand back after doing a job yourself - hopefully that feeling continues after the test drive - LOL
Ignored like the ugly kid in class, I'll just go post this in the 8l section and become a tard lol
That looks the dogs that Paul. 5.1 too
Christ on a bike!
Welly you pick all this up as you'v gone along or did you swing spaners in a past life??
The only thing I've done to mine is fit the dog bone bush, my rear abs/wheel speed sensor has gone, and I thought about doing that, but I think I remember reading somewhere (a while ago) that it was a bit of a tough job, and I can't find it again to check.
Welly, will AITP be your last Audi event in the S3??
Maybe, maybe not. I'm not too sure at this point to be honest.
I might hang on to her until ADI, and slap some for sale signs in the window for that...
All depends on the money situation peoples....
As I've gone along mate, never had any sort of mechanical training at all - apart from playing a lot with Mecano as a kid, and cars aren't really that different.
None of the rest of my family are that way inclined at all, so god knows where I get it from.
I must be the milkman's.
May make an appearance at ADI this year - only to spectate though - seem a few incidents there.
I've been to the pub, had a few drinks, now good for nothing
Impressive knowledge base you'v acquired there dude.
I've been good for nothing all day..... lol
PA head on tomorrow for me so I will be assistant sound engineer for the next three days - downside two nights in a caravan - upside the mixing desks and sound engineers will be based in the beer tent.
Won't be on here a four days as I have Monday off to relax as it is a pretty physical weekend - especially as I usually only push a keyboard round.
Looking forward to it.
Sounds like a nice weekend. Hope the weather improves!
Doesn't look too bad :-
