    Hello there!

Since iv'e bought my S3 three months ago, Iv'e not been able to use the my arm rest, because it has broken by staying in a fixed upright position. The button to release arm rest clicks in but is not releasing it to come down.

I've ordered a new kit for it . Can anyone tell me wheather its a
    DIY job?
Or a job for the professionals?.

Hello matey, I had the same problem and it's a DIY job! All u do is open the flap and undo the 4 torques screws which hold the button on. The old item will come off and just replace with the new 1. Job done and yes it really is that simple. If for some strange reason u get stuck pm me and I will walk u through it. Have fun. Lol

Yes IFFY, I brought forward my complaint to C&R in Nottingham, who are the VW AUDI specialist. I ask one of the mechanic to have look, through inspection he suggested I needed a new arm rest kit. I've ordered it not yet pick it up. When I do I'll be able to tell you m8.

you can fix it for free with a bit of bodging, and you can make it stronger than a new one.

I cut off the remaining unbroken clip on mine then drilled it out and put a long piece of steel straight through to act as the clip for both sides. The link below may be of some help too.
