I had my car in getting its Quattro oil change and they ran a diagnostic on it - i got a note back when the oil chnage was done saying that there may be a fault with an exhaust gas pressure sensor but they would need to run another diagnostic to confirm @ £58 + VAT.

I have since been using the car and it now has an intermitent fault that it starts to run rough and lose power for short periods of time - Audi saying this is the pressure sensor failing - never happened before it went in.

No they want £300 to do the job - Part is £42.11. 2.5 hrs to do job £85.00per hr + vat += £299.17

Can i get this done cheaper at another garage or am i better of getting the part and then asking a small independant gargae to fit it?? The car is out of warranty anyway so why stick with them? Thoughts welcomed.

Find a decent VAG specialist, they use OEM parts (but cheaper as they aren't stamped with the expensive 4 rings) and will be half the price on labour.

Give Star Performance a call in Fife on 01592 655595.
VW/Audi specialists and are waaaaay cheaper usually.
Jim or Brian will help you out there....

Whoever does any work on your car, if they use non-Audi (true OEM) parts that will void any warranty you may have.

Forfar (outside Dundee) may be too far for you to go but try giving Sandemans Cars a call, they own all the manufacturers diagnostics software for merc vag and ford, fairly cheap hourly's too. ive seen them take on massive jobs too

    the number is 01307463483

and they use oem parts, my vagcom tells no lies :)
