Take a look at the droplinks too and see if they're perished.
There's also the bush in the wishbone bit (its the bush in the bit that motpeople use a jacking point for trolley jacks).
I dont the droplinks/arb bush on my mk4 and it was an ok job but just need another jack to keep the hub pushed up/downb so you can get the arb bush back in and tightened. Similar principle to the droplink.
Only concern for my would be acess as you hve a big 3.2 V6 upfront and the arb bush access may be lmiited but if you can see it, it should be ok....
