Anyone tell if my S3 is remapped already ?

Awesome gti is not far from me , I will prob take it there and see what he has to say , thanks for input kel

No problem or try revo by email to see if your car has been mapped ,awesome gti are now apr agents but where revo agents ..

This thread has been totally blown out of proportion. No site sponsor is taking offence to the reading of any map. The initial thing I asked was to keep it to PM's as I could see it was going to go down the slagging route.....nothing else.

Its the usual tone of peoples replies that gets most peoples backs up.......and yes I am guilty of that sometimes....everyone is.

As for the slagging off of UK Tuning companies.......if the certain individual thinks they can run a competitive business then I suggest they go and do it or even try it..........actions speak louder than words in my book.

Hi mark i,m in scotland next week could i pop over :)

Course you can John.........sent you a PM. Treating the RS3 to a bit of BroTek TLC?????? lol

Remember now anyone that comes near my unit is drawn into the shelves to purchase items.....its like a magnetic pull.....it just happens apparently.

Just been onto Audi they said they cannot put my car back to standard ? It's a service they don't offer !!

Hi yonner a tuner ,ie audi specialist will do that ,only time audi will do that if your car is in for updates ,that wipes the map...

That's not true at all, they can do this, but they're just being ****'s, a simple reflash of the ecu will resolve this, had mine done aswell when was tracking down issues, of which turned out to be non ecu related, but the ecu had an update & it removed any mapping & returned to stock.

Manchester mate

If you are from round here I would seriously consider taking it to Rick at Unicorn Motor Developments.

Speak with Rick, he knows mapping inside out and I could not recommend him enough. He will help you get to the bottom of this.

Agreed, Rick's based in Stockport and really knows his stuff

Rick knows his onions mate so give him a bell..............I haven't had time this afternoon to look at the map mate. Possibly tonight if not tomorrow I shall get back to you.

cheers for that :) , if I download an original ecu S3 file with same sw and hw can I write that back to my car ?

That got moved along quickly... Almost stealth like! Sure a few PM's have been sent! :ninja:

I've always liked this forum its helped with a lot of issues that I've had with the car, and there are some really helpful people on it, disappointed with some responses here, but who am I? I dont run an S3 nor have I been mapped by any site sponsors so perhaps not worthy of being involved in this thread. Disappointed by some of the site sponsors and I am sure this post will cause a backlash as no doubt they think I wouldnt spend my cash with them..

Anyway end of rant.....

Mine isn't a rant, nor have any axes to grind, but is more of an observation of Brodster's original post.

Brodster you claim your original post was to stop a slanging match, and that's fair enough. However that's not entirely what you wrote in your original post (now unhelpfully deleted).

You had a direct pop at Jackie Brown, and called him/her out for having "irrelevant stuff" on his/her replies - and went further to berate him/her saying it was typical of his/her posts.

My take is that Jackie posted useful stuff about the OP's map - in the same way that we would comment on a VCDS scan. Extremely useful and relevant. For the benefit of this forum, and its members. But maybe the thread is best placed in the tuning section of the forum.

You may have taken the humph with the tone of the posts, which is fine, but to subsequently claim something different is misleading.

My 2p.

And to the OP, yes, go see Rick in Stockport :)

No comment on this tuning from professional yet? Takes 2 minutes to look.

I unsubscribe because too much testosterone - not enough 'answers' to the original question. Nobody else have opinion on this software? This has gone on too long with no solid response.

Brodster I am sorry if I upset you. Too many people in UK just want to flash flash flash but no explanation. I only trust 1 person in this country with that ECU/Engine. Please note I am no 'professional' nor claim to be. If I get time I can screenshot what I explain so people understand fuelling at least?

Maybe not? Do not argue we can learn instead :)

I have had another tuner look at the file and his response is it aint the worst remap he seen but there are issues with it , so I am gonna get it sorted , this is what he said :
My main concern is quite an aggressive mixture with for some reason retarded ignition timing at high load. This combination will result in very high exhaust gas temperatures on boost which in time could lead to turbo/manifold/exhaust valve damage. Other than that, I don't think it will be any faster than standard, if at all!

i have had nowt but baduck upto now with this car , it had buckled wheels which needed replacing , some one had wired a tv tuner into it and used the Bose wire to ground it in the car , throwers loads of faults in vcds , I have 4 new alloys and the tv tuner ripped out so I getting there slowly , :)

i just wanna thank you all for your input :)

The thing to do now is to make sure that whoever works on it from now knows exactly what he/she is doing, and to consider whether it is worth that person trying to fix the map,or simply cutting your losses and having it overwritten with some proper software.

That's what I would do.

Rolling Road versus 'Road' Tuning.

I think I like Rick. He understands these cars.

Send me log of current software and when its tuned properly - I've got identical car outside now

Well guys my car is deffo remapped now!! Wanna say a big thanks to Rick at Unicorn Motor Developments. I took my car today to him and he has ripped the map that was on the car off! and he has put a good few hours into setting mine up! the car now feels awesome to drive with the boost delivered and put down to the road properly! the car also feels free to drive and smooth power delivery through all gears !! totally shocked at the difference and I would deffo recommend him to anyone with an S3 , I will post more on economy on fuel in a week or 2 when the car adapts more , also I am gonna get it on the rolling road and see what increases I got , Jackie Brown I appreciate all your help and advice also mate , wanna say thanks for all the other input from forum members and I am a happy GUY!!!

Blam its done!

I got Audi S3 K04 TFSI outside, ITG Induction, Forge FMIC, APR HPFP, Full Miltek Zorst, Pre/Decat Removal - having loads of fun! Not a fan of mods but they're sick cars!

Personally I'd keep your car as it is now. Good enough with tuning and stock engine! :D :D

good work Rick!

<3 Rick

RIGHT HE CAN TUNE PEOPLE'S CARS FROM NOW ON COS HE'S A NICE HUMAN BEING!!!!

Are you implying that other tuners aren't pleasant to deal with and cant tune cars very well?

omg i cant do all the 'quote' stuff i'm not nerdy enough.

NHN - real tuners are psychopathic lunatics! as in, the people who have studied and are actually good at what they are doing. all have some weird bits, and get agitated easily (from experience).

maybe if more ''tuners'' commented on this tuning work, i would believe in their ''knowledge'' also.

now i must go to bed. lots of work tomorrow!
