Anyone running 9.5j on rear

    Audi a3 8p tdi

    Getting some 3sdms 0.01
    As need some wide wheel
    I'm low on coilovers. Running 215/35/18 any probs on rubbing ?

    Take care, the approved rim for a 235/35 R18 is 7 to 8.5J.

    :readit: A 235/35 R18 tyre is NOT recommended for a 9.5J rim: go see the Continental Tyre Technical Data Book (available on line) and in particular page 57.

    Well I'm running 215/35/18 on 8.5j for years so never been a problem

    I had 19x9.5 ET48 on mine for a while with no rubbing problems with a 225/35 tyre on. Depends on how you low you are and how stiff your suspension is obviously

    I have 9j on the rear of mine at the moment with no problems (215 tyre)

    Ok just picked the wheel up hmmm they are 9.5j all the way round unsure if fronts are going to love it ?

    It's been done, but it's not best thing to be doing check link. You can kiss your turning circle goodbye. Any pictures of the alloys? Why did you get 9.5j? Were they cheap or did you that concave look?

    Page 13 has 19x9.5 et35 all rounds,215/35, no arch work.

    i'd just like to quote: "on the cheapest of the cheap with mk4 golf front coilover springs. Drove like a piece of poo. Had to have 50psi+ to keep the tyres on the bead lol looked ace when slammed so I didnt mind."

    pretty sure mk4 coilovers have a smaller diameter spring which possibly gives more room for the inside of the rim.

    just guessing though

    Can't really see, is it sticking out? You might have to run some camber.

    Yeah sticks out not to much tho just 225/40/18 will rub if have 215/35/18 won't be that bad

    I know, but what I'm saying is has he swapped mk5 springs for mk4 springs up front to gain more clearance on the inner edge of the rim to stop the rim from hitting the strut/spring.

    Just thinking it might be something to consider

    F!!k me, that is seriously lush. How is the ride? Are you sure they are 18s? They look more like 19-20s, maybe because of the same tires. More pictures if you can.

    I'm running 3sdm 0.01's staggered 9.5J rears ET40 225/40/18 lowered around 40-50mm and rubs like a b***h over the smallest of bumps without any weight in the back... may have to go for the 215/35/18 to try and stop the rubbing.. hopefully this resolves my problem.

    its a Quattro so unsure whether its wise/advisable...

    If you mean adjusting rear camber,then don't worry about that,it's fine.

    Mine runs a fair amount of rear camber,to accomadate 18x9x245 tyres and rims,but then it does need the extra grip.

    I'm not being funny,but I don't.

    Any decent tyre service with a laser wheel alignment setup should be able to do this for you,and some tuners can as well.

    Sorry to talk in my own thread,
    But all this brake upgrade stuff as my rims are et40 and 9.5j wide would I have a problem fitting ttrs calipers etc and disc can I get just normal not ts disc they don't have much meat on them etc ???

    Those are TTS, not ttrs. Plus they are expensive by my book, bought some front and rear S3 brakes complete from a breaker for 445. Try germany ebay, if you want ttrs brakes cheap...er.
