Need to remove the carpet on my A4 Fl avant as the seal around the ECU cover has failed and the drivers side is just about flooded with water. I have just about stripped the interior down but I'm wondering about the center console supports I don't see how you could remove the carpet with these in place. The reason why I ask is that elaswin makes no mention about removing these supports.

You can cut the carpet in the middle of the tunnel behind the centre console support you can't tell when you refit everything, or you have to remove the supports, it all unbolts, but there is more work involved doing it that way.

neatly cut the carpet with a stanley knife and when replacing use a small piece of gaffa tape to hold the two pieces together
