I want to actually get mine now, been thinking about it for ****** ages and finally decided to actually make some time and do it.

Got myself a book and i'm reading up, anyone got any tips (if that have the CCNA, or CCNP or CCIE for that matter) My goal eventually is the CCVP...

Which book(s) have you got mate?

CCNA is something I've got on my list of exams to get done; but at the moment the queue is paused due to too many other things going on...

The double-pack books ICND and CCNA by Stephen McQuerry seem to be the badboys...

Regards,

Rob

CCNA for dummies(!) and a CCNA study guide from Sybex

I was told Sybex is alright, but can complicate/confuse things a bit...

The Stephen McQuerry double-pack is here:

(the perfect partner bit half-way down)

I've gotten part way through the CCNA book (not looked at the ICND one yet) and it seems pretty good. Might be worth seeing if you can eBay copies of them or something?

Have you got much Cisco knowledge already? Have you any other certifications?

Regards,

Rob.

I've got the latest Sybex CCNA book in PDF format if you want a copy. It's 40MB so if you have an FTP server PM me the details and I'll send it on.

I've also got some Testking exam questions - these are essential reading before sitting the exam. Some of the questions you get in the exam you'll be like WTF!!! but the Testking has loads of questions really close to the bizarre ones you'll get in the exam. I've always read these before any Cisco exam, they are really good.

I've got a CCNA and CCNP. I should have the CCVP seeing as I'm supposed to be an IP Telephony specialist but can't be ***** with another load of exams at the moment!

A CCVP is the way to go - there is decent money to be made in Cisco IPT.

But hey, it aint worth a flying **** if you've got no practical experience....

Thats the problem I have, my co don't sell Cisco equipment. I already work on VoIP pbx's but would like to progress into Cisco stuff.

Right, I have found a Cisco Networking Academy Program and I'm currently going through Binary, Decimal and Hex, not so bad when you think of it logically. Much easier to convert from Dec to Bin then to Hex. FF-FF-FF-FF as they say (thought I'd broadcast my achievements eh!)
