Anybody used engine flush before?

the hydraulic lifters on my TDI are a bit noisy, especially on cold-starts

had thought about using some engine flush to clear out crud build-up around the valve-stem seals

as far as i know 2 types are available - one which replaces all the oil content and another which is small can which you add to the existing oil.

anybody got advice?

either are quite good. my dad was in the running of buying a company which sells the stuff so we tested some existing products... we tried it (all were off the shelf in halfords for about £20-£30 each) on 3 sqeaky diesels which had all done over 70000miles and the results were impressive IMO.

They all seemed the same tbh mate. The deal fell through in the end so we didnt research into it anymore. "Greased Lightening" is the products name though if you want to look it up...
