as post, just nacked the rear seals, or any good places to get calipers?
Never seen a how to, but they are easily done.
You have to screw the piston out & will usually find some corrosion in the back of the original seals.
A good clean out with a tooth brush & scriber if need be, followed by a blast through with contact / brake cleaner.
The pistons themselves should easily clean up with a wire brush etc.
You can get the seals through the Audi parts dept & re-assemble using silicone grease.
Then its the usual process of fitting & bleeding.
Got my seals and new guide pins / boots from here, about a quarter of the price of the dealer:
Audi A3/S3 Brake Discs - Audi A3/S3 Brake Pads
thanks, is it 41 or 38 seals for the s3?
original PN is 8D0698671.. 38mm as i remember, but can check in a few hours as i have a spare kit around
38mm is the one you need for S3
payed much more for an OEM repair kit which is also TRW
So is the 41mm for the A3 (non S3)? I'm tempted to replace the seals as I just can't justify the cost of new calipers if a seal kit is a fiver...
