anti-shudder ?

When i switch engine off sometimes its a smooth cut out othertimes the engine shudders....is it the anti-shudder valve ? if so where is it ? pics?

As you don't say if its derv or petrol not sure but it sounds like its what we used to call "running on" in which case it could be a small amount of fuel self detonating ( heat or pressure ) after you have switched the engine spark off.

If it's a TDi then the anti shudder valve is near the EGR. Check the vacuum pipes leading to it.
