hi everyone,
am i the only a3 dsg7 owner hearing this noise?

i hear it only over rough road with the windows down and stereo off.
my engine is the 1.8tfsi dsg7



please let me know. I have not seen anyone on this forum talk about this noise yet.

From my research it seems many people the dsg7 in golfs/jettas etc hear this.

my car shifts smoothly and works great otherwise, i just hear something very similar to this sometimes over the bad roads.

If you go to The Audi A1 Forum :: A Big Idea, Condensed :: Welcome there is quite a bit about this topic on there.

I have this noise on my A1 - it's been investigated and no issues with the box. As you found out you really have to try and hear it by driving slow and windows down.

Spoken to a couple of people about this at my dealer and it seems to be a bit of a quirk of the dry clutch 7 speed box. Some people will say that they don't hear the noise on theirs but I've had a couple of courtesy cars with same box and they both did it. My friend who has a MK7 Golf has the noise too.

If the box is shifting correctly and no other issues my advice would be to forget about it and enjoy the car!
