Alpine dvd headunit

    Ive just tried fitting my new headunit to my a4 and it wont power up can any body give me an idea of what may be the problem Ive fitted many stereoss before and fittexd a jvc dvd headunit in my previous 1.8T so im not new to this and fairly clued up but at the moment im stumped.

    the majority of vag cars are actually wired so as permanent live is ignition live and vice versa
    this often causes a lot of confusion

    Thanks for the reply ive think ive sussed it now but to make it work I have to have the yellow and red wire connected to each other shud this be ok to do.

    yes thats o.k
    the only thing to remmeber is now that you have connected the red and yellow wire you will have to turn off the stereo yourself
    even when the ignition key is not in the car
