My biz partner has an B7 S-Line with the fish-scale trim which I like, so I've collected a fair range of it via t'bay and fitted over the weekend with my DIS and Cruise:thumbsup: being an S-line his is all Soul Black but mine being Swing Grey (LB) thought i'd try it out...

I think it modernises the interior but also reminds me of a 50's racing car?

I've got to get the dremel out to do the dash 'quattro' badge (the quattro dash alone is 63 notes form a dealer)

I've also got a double din ashtray and the gear surround too:icon_thumright:

What ya think? is it better than the plastic?

I have the exact same colour leather and trim as you do. I like the trim, but I think the leather is just a big 'grey'. I've also been thinking about doing my trim in an attempt to modernise it like you!

However, like I'm sensing you are, I'm a bit unsure about how it looks. I 'think' I prefered it how it was before in honesty. What do you think?

why not look at wrapping it,theres plenty of colours on ebay?

You've hit the nail on the proverbial! The 'old' trim is just a bit too old man's cruiser (though not as bad as 'walnut' - apols if you love walnut - my 2nd car was a triumph dolomite!) but at the same time it still looks pretty smart.

I like the ally / stainless as it looks abit like the new a3 and a4 I saw at the posh-boys showroom last week!

I got the gear surround and double din ashtray for a steal and as I'm going to go RNS-E I'll leave it like it is for a while. I can always swap back later!

I think I'm going to try soul black switch surrounds too - that's the one advantage of the LB trim it's not just 50 shades of grey.....there's black and ally too:icon_thumright:

    Thanks for your thoughts

That is one nice cabby - and you can always set fire to the wood trim if the heated seats fail (purely for warmth:laugh:)

I would love (and will get) one of those for my better 1/2 to enjoy the summer in:icon_thumright:

I think the aluminium does lift the interior a bit.

My car is black leather with the piano black trim. I think the aluminium would suit mine too.

I have RS4 Carbon fibre trim in my Cabriolet.. I'd like to cover up the 'quattro' badge somehow, as I don't like pretending it's something it's not..

A little update - found the ally fishscale a bit 'stark' so tracked down some from the pre-s4 3.0 Quattro in mill finish gunmetal:thumbsup:

which goes a treat with the old-man's-grey interior...
