Ive got a standard A4 in atlas grey with the 5 spoke alloys which are in serious need of a refurb from previous owner.

Found a place that will do all four for £250 inc vat and "properly refurbished not with powder coating"?

Can do any colour I like, now not looking for anything dramatic given the car and colour but wondered whether a darker grey may look good rather than the original colour... Anyone got any ideas/pics

My Audi is atlas grey and I keep thinking the wheels would look good in gunmetal or anthracite.....

Yes both look good and think probably only colours that would suit unless something a little darker again

I thought powder coating was better on alloys as its harder wearing.

Powder coating is a far better lasting finish. I ran my old wheels through 3 summers, and two winters and they were still like new when I sold them on.

get powder coated its way better, and for me many mistake Gunmetal for the finish i got on my BMW paras, i got shadow chrome aka black chrome and is amazing, TWS the wheels specialist which has branches all over the UK will do this exact finish for you, all in one day.

From what I remember @quattrojames had a grey Avant with darker wheels, theirs also images on google if you search "b6 grey gun metal" or "b6 gun metal s line" or allot of the old RS6's also had gun metal wheels.

For £250 I'd put the cash and your exsisting wheels towards a new set instead unless they're s-line wheels or something, seems a waste when they'll get kerbed again anyway.

Hi guys thanks for feedback. A mate actually posed the question why I don't buy a second hand set in better Nick and will get something for mine too.

Re powder coating I honestly don't know, I always assumed that was the only way to finish them, but his facebook page refers to bad powder coating methods and how the coating fails.... Guess one man will push his own system more than another's....
