i need to get at the backup alarm siren thats in the rear of the car, where exactly is it which side of the car and how easy is it to get at?

it started going of for no reason so guessing battery inside on its way out, its only started doing it over the last few nights since its got colder at night

the car has been unsed for a fortnight whilst i was on holiday but ok the for the first couple of days i was back, just last few nights.

im thinking of having a look and seeing if i can try to fix it like this

well B5 had some similar things as the 8L, 8L has it in the rear passenger quarter corner, usually its the batteries that go & they are not repairable, have you vagged it 1st as might not be the siren itself, anyway if it is this just replace from audi as I got second user ones & they also went wrong so I got new one from audi which has actually been revised to alot better design & it never caused a problem afterwards, 8L was £80

ok found it , rear drivers side and fairly easy to get out........surprisingly for audi lol

is purely a siren with a backup battery in? if so would it be possible to swap i for a better/louder siren even if it meant not having the backup with it?

just wondering as we all know the siren is basically rubbish when it comes to making noise
