Should the passenger airbag light come on (indicating off) when you start the engine?

Mine comes on for 4 seconds then goes off. I hadn't ever notice the light until yesterday, maybe my lack of observation.

I also notice you can turn the passenger airbag off by a switch in the glove compatment, mine is set to on, as I would expect.

Sounds perfectly normal. It's just like the warming lamps. They come on briefly so you can check they haven't blown.

The reason for deactivating the airbag is if you have a car seat in the front.

I've seen mine go. I would have thought it's so you can check it still works, much as all the other lights come on!
