Agu pistons. Knackered or reusable?

I'm rebuilding an agu engine to do a k04 conversion in my a3 and thought I would put some forged rods in to be safe so bought some dm rods off a guy on ebay.
When I took the pistons off the old rods in my engine they look abit worn. Have got wrist pins that came with the second hand rods and when I put them in theres no play.
This is my first time doing a re-build so learning as I go and obviously would rather ask for advice than stuff it up. Apologies if pictures are poor they were taken on my phone.

we'l need some better pictures in focus buddy, and what you're actually questioning

they will always be usable
we just need better pictures to tell whether
its as pistons, door stops or book ends
ive seen ash trays mentioned to which might be your thing

Its the part in the hole where the wrist pins fits that I've circled in red. It might be perfectly normal but looks worn away to me. They are all like it in the same place though. Like I say I'm kinda learning as I go so rather ask and get it right first time. Would also like it to last and be reliable.

that's normal they all have that notch, i guess its for wrist pin lubrication

If it was me i would measure the pin and the piston but just looking at it it looks fine

I would soda blast the pistons or bob them in a ultrasonic cleaner
