Hi guys,

Just wondering in some of you fine fellows could help us out as I haven't really found the information I need on this facelift. I have a 55 plate with big grill but want to go to a 2010 front end.

Is it just bumper, fogs and headlights or do I defiantly need the bonnet and front wings plus anything else I may have missed. I'm not going bi xenon or anything like that as I'm a biff and don't like electrics.

Attached photos so easy for everyone to know

bonnet, wings, everything really from the windscreen forward.

do a search as there is alot of information out there, especially on this forum about the 8P3 conversion.

Happy days thanks mate I've done some research on google before I joined here and wasn't really getting luck so though asking was best

Sounds like a lot of work, and I would wonder if you were doing that amount of major change to the car the insurance company would need to know?

How about instead changing the grill for something else like a Honey Comb (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400742477910), or even putting an S-line front bumper from an 8PA?

^ It is a lot of work but it modernises the car in my eyes, the reward far outweighs the work.

I would make sure I was putting on an s-line or s3 8P3 front bumper though. Seems silly to do all the work and not go for the top spec.

Insurance isn't a problem for me as I'm with a specialist and it's fairly cheap so declaring isn't a problem had a fiesta with lots done and all declared. I was thinking the s3 bumper if I did it but for now I may look for an S line bumper, and search over time for all the other parts and get cheap

I'm with a company called Brentacre, you will have to ring to get your quote. I've been with them since I was 21 and always done me proud

Just to let you know im doing the conversion myself in a few weeks so feel free to ask any advice, im also not looking to shell out for the bi-xenons so im looking for a drl alternative for the non xenon lights,

To do the full conversion i think the parts you need are:

Bonnet
Wings
Headlights
Bumper/grills etc
Front panel
Wing mirrors (facelifts have indicators in the mirrors instead of wings so will need changing)

I think thats pretty much it, you will probably need an auto electrician to wire up the indicators in the mirrors aswell, although most bodyshops might do it for you (mine is i hope)

S-line and S3 bumpers are the same other than the grill and i think the s3 has a different splitter, so id definatly look out for an s line bumper shell and get the grills elsewhere

Cheers guys much appreciated. Those links will definitely come in handy

I have a facelift black grill I bought off ebay new if your interested new never used as I got a complete bumper in the end, got pics if your interested... It's a honeycomb one It's non genuine cost me 170, I'd sell it for 100 to get out the way!

The s line bumper and s3s are not the same bumpers! the fog light grills on the s3s are more diamond and I think the splitter is different

also as for all the parts you guys have mentioned im not sure whether your old crash bar along the front would accommodate the a3 8p3 tow eye position on the bumper I think you should play it safe and get a crash bar and the foam filler that goes on the front of that I think these are the part numbers you need
8p08007113F
8P0807550
This is playing it safe adding this to your conversion but don't quote me on that if its needed 1 thing I can tell you is these parts are for the 8p3 so its up to you to decide have fun lol

I will end up getting everything to be on the safe side so I have no hassles either that or a source a car that's had a rear ender and and part what else is salvageable of the car that I don't need
