    Hello all,

My bro has a scooby and his forum is doing this test...

Stick your car in 3rd gear and accelerate from 30MPH to 100MPH and time it. Post your times here, we can compare.

Be itnerested to see what the 1.8Ts, the 2.8s, supercharged audi's, quattros etc etc compare on here!

Doing mine this weekend, will post results.

NB: DO LET US KNOW YOUR EXACT SPEC! Quattro or not, what motor etc.

    Cheers,
    Leon

Although he didn't say so, I'm guessing we're meant to change up to 4th when we hit the rev limiter.

    Yes? No?

I think ZeroK66 owns an oil company if he wants us to hit 100mph in 3rd gear. must be 8mpg!

Also are we going to go off the inaccurate as fook speedo as we're probably only doing 92mph when the speedo says 100mph. Can you just go off the climate display or is that inaccurate too?

Also the turbo version should do the same top end speeds as the non turbo per gear or have they altered the gear ratios?

Maybe we should all check wind speed & direction as well, otherwise our figures won't compare with each other's.

    Just a thought

As well as gradient of road that we use, don't want people getting an unfair advantage going downhill.

I've got a spreadsheet that helps calculate speed at rpm based on tire size and gear ratios. According to the chart, My S4 should be hitting 100mph at 6802 rpm. This spreadsheet has no aerodynamic figures added in, so I may be shifting to get 100 also. What RPM is the rev limiter set at in the S4? I've never hit it. Since you can really feel the power start to fall off above 6k I'm shifting by 6500 anyway so I can get back down into the sweet spot.

My buddy might be doing that in his '02 USDM WRX with boost controller. If he's not I'll make sure he is!

BTW, what times are they hitting on the Subaru board?

I think the idea is to get a general idea how our cars compare to others out there and eachother. its not a massive test/ultra accurate test.

Just be nice to get an idea - I would simply like to see how my 2.8q compares to others out there and more importantly to the supercharged ones out there! Be interesting!
