Thats is one awesome car....lovin it
Thanks guys, I'm enjoying it.
The wheels are a practical nightmare when I'm parking they are totally unforgiving. I can't even touch the rear off side curb there is no rubber just alloy. I need to contact ABT to find a wheel specialist to keep them looking good, I fear they may have to be sent away.
Even though the car has been lowered the suspension is fine which is a relief as I live in speed bump hell.
Looks like i just found my next car when i wear this one out. I thought the new A6 looked a bit organic and bulbous but this looks a lot sharper. What are AMd claiming in terms of power and torque?
AmD have carried out an ECU Remap which gives it an extra 45+BHP & 80+T
LB of Torque.
I've just spoken to ABT about the car, the garage vendors didn't tell me they have also fitted the car with full ABT suspension so it's lowered by 40mm. and why it rides so well over the **** local road surfaces.
I'm going to have the brake callipers sprayed next.
Just emailed my mate in Germany, his has 215kW (approx288hp) and 420Nm torque. Just looked up the ABT website, theres some nice gear on there but its a tad expensive. I'm impressed by the difference lowering the car 40mm makes to the look, but I find that my standard springing is grounding due to the bumpy roads up here so I don't think i'd be able to do it.
I live in Lambeth and the speed bump epidemic is absolute lunacy. They are everywhere and illegal in most cases in that they are too high. The ABT suspension is extraordinary, it handles them well, I do have to watch the extra low front spoiler which does occasionally scrape them. Your roads must be particularly bad.
Sounds like your mate in Germany has a not disimilar engine upgrade. It's tempting to go up a notch but for the moment I'm more than happy.
Umm possibly more than a little to do with speed on very undulating roads, i see very few speed bumps in the borders. you tend to fly off the top of one high spot and land in the bottom of the next hollow, cue nasty scraping noises. there is one point where i get all 4 wheels off the floor if i don't slow up. bring the car to scotland for some vigorous exercise on empty roads, you won't regret it, it'll need a decoke from living in Lambeth.
Very good idea. I have a trip to Wales coming up, trouble is the mobile police cameras are popping up everywhere.
