ABSOLUTELY FRICKIN GREAT! -NOT!!

Holy crap! Is there any sign of what may have caused this to happen, or where the force may have come from to cause so much damage? Are the flywheel and clutch both as they should be??

Not sure Rich, I took a few pics and left, didn't fancy fingering the bits of sharp metal, the car's done enough damage to me(my wallet actually) as it is. The bolts on the clutch plate took some damage aswell, they were grinded away, the mechanic had to cut them off, but the flywheel survived, so no need to replace that part.

Now for the good news, I went over an hour ago, and drove it round the bock, so she's back! Couldn't drive it quick though, cos I have that speed sensor missing, should arrive Saturday morning, but I'll be at AmD, so gonna pick it up Monday. The gearshift felt smooth and direct, so seems like a good purchase at £300 including transfer box.

I actually miss the thing! :racer:

Yes, the new one off the ring road, by the Birmingham City footy ground, it's tiny actually, but it's also the part's dept. where I ordered the speed sensor. There was a few Q7's also, they are selling well, I've seen more of them than X5's, Audi left it late, but the buyers know what they want!

Yeeees, my car's back! :racer: all up and running, but with no signal to the speedo, need to get this speed sensor fitted soon!
Cost of the Fix is as follows.
Used S3 gearbox(32k miles apparently) with transfer box - £300
New Clutch, Standard spec Valeo item with traders discount - £160
Clutch release bearing - £36
Gearbox speedsensor - £43
Labour - £225

Total - £764

nice work. well quick recovery for that cost dude.

Not as bad as I thought it would be actually, it also helps that I'm in the trade. I had to drive to east London from Birmingham for my gearbox, I'm glad I had AA membership to get my car home for free, and borrowed a mates recovery truck to transport car to gearbox/clutch specialist.
