Hello all, I wonder if anyone can help. I've just got my first Audi, a 2001 Avant 1.8T after owning a Merc 230 TE and a Volvo 960. Driving it on a longish (100 miles) trip for the first time I noticed some "idiosyncrasies", lets say.

1. When accelerating from low speed the "gear changes" seem brusque if the car is a accelerated anywhere near firmly - does not happen when using the "gears" in tiptronic mode or when footing it down properly and going to high revs quickly. Only really happens low down. Higher cahnges seem seamless. Is this the mormal change for this type of box ?

2. When crusiing along at almost any constant speed (as the car seems to settle for about 1800-1900 revs whether you are crusing at 40, 90, or 90) and the revs are at 1800 to 2000, the revs just blip up about 100 or so and the go back down, then blip up again and go back - feels like you've hit a mild bump, but it's the revs fluctuating. The car has just been serviced and there were no problems reported (specialist, not stealership). Could it be the gearbox or turbo??

3) Are the wiper blades menat to be someaht pathetic and squeaky? (wipers do a good job but squeal and look wobbly as they wipe)

4) Concert Stereo is really good but does not seem to pick up AM at all, which is a pest if you are trying to listen to Five Live and the Footie.

Other than that, I really love the car.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Jez

Discovered the Stealership that serviced it and achnghed the wiper blades put them in upside down/wrong way around somehow!!
New ones have solved that problem.
