I know this may sound stupid but here goes

does the manual gearbox on the A6 2.4 30V 2WD use the engine oil for lubrication or does it have its own supply as in the Auto boxes.

Im asking because my gear change feels a little notchy and not as slick as it once was. Almost like the selector is slightly out or something, Mainly 1st to second). Its not bad or even annoying just i know the gear change is what possessed me to by the car as it was so slick and effortless.

If not what do i change it with.
