A6 1998 Electric Aerial Removal

Dumb question...
want to service my leccy aerial (can't get it all the way up anymore.. ooohh eerrr).... how does it come off the car... the rubber on the outside is knackered so I don't want to pull at this unless I have to

I suspect I have to cut/remove this to expose the top nut.. then undo this to then drop the module out from inside after removing the aerial line and power connector..

... can someone confirm

I would suspect its wheel off and remove the plastic trim within the arch.

The aerial should unbolt from underneath here, remove the wires and then pull out from the top.

That is unless someone with elswin can tell you otherwise

the aerial can be seen inside the cupboard that houses the cd changer and sat nav modules..... doesn't appear to be attached to the chassis in anyway and no way to release from the inside

Is there not a circlip holding it in????
