I have been looking a A5's on Autotrader. (Not looking to change just yet, Dear. Honestly!)

Newer models have the MMI control in the centre console, behind the gear knob. Some older models do not. Is MMI a recent addition or was it always there, but just controlled from a knob/switch on the dashboard?

Can any owners answer this?
Many thanks,
David

the 'real' MMI is on the centre console behind the gear knob and controls a lot of the settings from the car (phone, media, directory, car settings etc).
The control on the dash is just for the radio really on cars without MMI. It is 'like' mmi in its presentation but it really only controls the radio functions plus phone/media.

Controls on the dash are Radio Low such as Chorus/Concert/Symphony.
Controls around the gear lever are MMI high with Navigation

Newer cars from mid 09 now will always have the controls around the lever, these are are Radio Low II and MMI 3G, they will also have a Multimedia unit in the dash.
