Hi guys,

I am new here so go easy on me. I am based in Northern Ireland and currently shopping for an A5 here in the UK. Having never owned an Audi before, it is a little daunting. I have been a BMW fanboy all my life but feel like now is the time to change.

My requirements are as follows:

2010 or newer
White, grey or red colour
<60,000 miles
S Line spec
Sat Nav

My budget is £15,000.

Can you help me out with a few questions please?

  1. I have no preference for petrol / diesel - are some engines more reliable?
  2. Is the Sat Nav worth paying extra for? I think the screen is a bit dull just displaying radio stations!
  3. What are the typical service intervals? When are major services due and what are the rough costs?
  4. Are there any A5 specific checks worth making before going ahead with the purchase?
  5. I prefer the "rotar" style wheels - can you easily identify replicas?
  6. In terms of the older "Sport" models - how do they differ from the S Line?
  7. What comes as standard with an S Line that is not available on the SE?
  8. Are there any optional extras worth looking out for?

Apologies for all of the questions, I appreciate a lot of this will have been covered in various other posts throughout the years!

Some examples:

Audi A5 2.0T FSI 180 S Line Special Ed 2dr [Start Stop] - I am keen on this but it doesn't have sat nav :(

Audi A5 2.0 S Line Special Edition 3dr - this seems like a good car that has the right spec.

Thanks in advance,

Lee
