A5 2009 facelift conversion

I see people online doing pre facelift to facelift conversions.
doesn't this cost a lot of money?

what would you need to do it?
Bumper
Wings
Bonnet
Lights?

coding needed? will the panels fit the old car easily ?
just wondering anyway quite like my pre facelift

Dont think you need new wings, just bumpers, bonnet and lights. Swapping out the lights can be a bit of a faff. Assuming you are going like for like (xenons-xenons/halogen-halogen) I think you need to change some of the wiring to fit the new connections.

Think it needs some coding, but not 100%. Check out A5OC. Seen a few threads where people have done it.

Its going from halogen to xenons that is the biggest cost.

I have looked at them also. Not very clear on the procedure. Be nice to have some straight facts on how it works.

The coding is fine i have a mate who said he can do it.

I found a 2014 rs5 back end is destroyed and no engine going for 500 at my local car auction. I was thinking if i buy that and use its bumper lights and bonnet

Be nice to have some confirmation before i donthis like

Will the bummper fit on the old a5
Will the bonnet line up
Will the wings need replacing
Is it just a case of taking it off and putting the new parts on haha

Pre facelift to facelift is one thing. A5 to RS5 is something else entirely.....

Also i can get the parts for 500 to upgrade it

So that hmmm 4500

But hang on a rs5 is only 25000 great idea

Most of the RS5 parts won't fit the A5. Different wings and wheel arches makes it a very costly and involved conversion.

Completely different to just going from pre facelift to facelift.

Alternatively you have to use aftermarket conversion kits.

Yea I get the appeal of having RS parts (spoiler, honeycomb grill, etc) but the full conversion is odd to me....

One thing to 'downgrade' a S/RS to be a wolf in sheeps clothing. Would feel a bit daft being a sheep in wolfs clothing....!

Ahh well man. Im 20 years old just got a good job and grafted to get this money since I started. and i couldent afford the new shape A5 but its more headlights that attract me makes the car look so much more aggressive and i was planning on honeycomb grill later.

Also i have a mate with a 3.0 tdi that puts out 340bhp and are desiles lol.

My a5 is a 3.0 tdi btw but i admire you cars color thats a stunning blue haha.

Yea the 3.0TDI tunes well. (Although so does the V6 S5...!)

I had a pre facelift 2.0tfsi. I have to say, I do wonder if I actually prefer the pre facelift headlights!

Oh I do, my S5 is a facelift model

I think they both look good is my point

The brand new B9 model just released is still growing on me. Need to wait to see it in the metal, so to speak (...unless that's the one you were referring to..?).
