Didn't see many pics of Audi's in the snow this year. I couldn't be happier with mine in this weather we're having at the moment, even though it 2WD only. Had zero problems so far with snow and black ice.
I invite you to post your pics too.

At work, about 30 km , about 40 mins drive that morning.

They don't bother with salt here. Or anything .

This is southern Ireland. Cork to be more precise. It never snows here.

Mine has been a total nightmare!!!

Its only 2WD but couldn't get up my drive, it was total rubbish. My neighbour has the same car as mine but Quattro and he is having no problems at all

    Oh, i forgot to mention...

It got a whole lot worse for me the next day. To try and solve the issue of turning around, i thought i would back the car up the drive, all was going to plan until the automatic gates decided to close on me. I was stuck in a big pothole and couldn't move, The gates had dented both side panels where they had closed on me.

Luckily, we had an old Toyota Hilux which pulled me out while two of the neighbours held the gates open. This was all before getting on the train to work! lol

Ah that realy sucks. You should have safety photocells at your gate to stop that from happening again !

As for my headlights, it's just simple Laminex, in from the US pre-cut for B6 as opposed to the UK site where they only sell square sheets.

I think having the right tyres makes a difference too. I now have 2 new ones on the front and 2 six month old on the back. Makes a hell of a diference.

Ice is now the problem here, minus 7 setting of to work this morning with frozen windscreen and doors, I usually start the car before i leave to let it warm up a bit (diesel)

What tint did you go for? They do look good.

No egg sucking, but be careful as 'lots' of cars go walkies like that on cold winter mornings!

As James said buddy which type did you go for? The light tint is what I had in mind for mine just wondering how much it affects the light output..? Think the main US site is the only place for pre-cut if im correct?

    Easy to do?

    Ta!

lamin-ex in the US were the only place I saw pre-cut. I went for just Tint, light output is affected , I have 6K HID's which output a similar color to the tint. Light output was down about 10 - 15 % . Style went up 15- 20 %.

I had to take my Cupra splitter off again: was bending in the snow.

Quattro w/snow tyres, so been looking for snow & ice wherever I can: what a giggle!!

My 19" alloys have coped really well in the snow so far ove the last few weeks, and we've had it bad up here.
I'd actually say that the 2.5TDi Quattro Sport has had even more traction than my AWD Subaru had last year in similar snow conditions.

Here's a quick pic from my phone today:

That will be the benefit of torque over power, lower revs! If we ever get some snow down here in Bristol i will put some pics up. We had a light dusting the other day and thought i would have some fun, apparently the quattro system works a little too well, not much wheelspin and toooooo much speed.

Nice cars, however a disappointing show. I guess these Audi's aren't so good in the snow after all ;)

I guess people are just afraid in the snow with them so :D

I am pleased with mine, I have all season tyres on and have had very little problem in the ice and snow. A lot has to deal with how a person drives too.

Would you say the 6k hids plus the laminx are still better than just standard bulbs without the film?

P.s not had any snow here but on my icy(ish) road the a4 seems better than my type R was so far..

I would think so. The HID's were fitted before I purchased, the tints after - there was 2 reasons for me fitting the tint. Not only does it tint and gives a joey mod look easily , it also protects them from stones/chips.

MASSIVE flaw in this bit of logic: I'm having too much fun thrashing mine around the place when it's snowing... photo's from outside the car get taken by people who've had to get out of their cars and walk... go and look on the BMW forums if you want pics of cars in the snow from the outside (ROFL) :)

I'll try to get some friends to take some in a couple of weeks when the snow is supposed to kick in again and hit the South of England again properly...

PS: I know it's more fun, but I've actually found out that for quattro's you're SUPPOSED to take the traction control off in the snow.... WHOOOOPEEEEEEE!!!!!

i've had loads of snow up here, had no problem at all. made it to work every day since, think i'm the only one.

as said above, switch traction control off in all cars in the snow, as it doesn't cuts the power going to the wheels so you don't just end up stopped in a dip

i have to say ESP is on in mine and it works grate in snow i think it must be the way some drive to find it a problem with it on and it cutting the power to the point your car will not move never had this ;=)

this is true defsix and all though it helps to stop the wheels spinning up it is more importent when turning on bends as it brakes what ever wheel is slipping to keep you in a strate line ;-)
