But they're expensive & not very good
imo they will sound **** as they have no depth to them! and for that price there muggin people off!!
Well they do sound ****, but that's because the fibreglass construction is feeble, with a minimal amount of layers, nothing to do with depth, as long as the volume of the enclosure is correct the depth is irrelevant.
i see andys has those tweezers out again!!
the depth is relative to the volume of and enclosure, (as boxes aint normally 6ft wide!!) there for a box with no depth could be equaled the the over all LACK OF VOLUME of an enclosure.
the fiberglass dont help as andy said but the physics just dont add up!
lol in short dont by 1 if you want to make a real noise, if you want just a little more thump then you would get the same amount of bass from a decent set of rear speakers.
As I said the depth is irrelevant as long as the volume is correct. A box with no depth is just a sheet of MDF and thus has no volume so can't be correct.
go and see a good independant dealer (there are lots of specialists up and down the country) and they should be able to make a box suitable which wont take up lots of space and which will be suitable for for whatever sub you wish to run
the auto acoustics box is garbage they have the right idea by using fibreglass and moulding the shape to take advantage of space but its done very very poorly
a good specialist should be able to mould you a box taking advantage of space and also use the correct number of layers and construction
