    Hello can anyone help
My 2004 A4 cab has lost a metal and rubber seal that sits in between the alloy windscreen surround and the windscreen itself (the drivers side) and now the top one has fell out too but managed to save it.
Anyway rang Audi up and they said the seal is part of the alloy surround and it will cost £120 just for the drivers side

Is this correct? And also how do they stay in?
I could silicone the top one in but surely they should fit in better than this if they are £120 each

    thanks

markzs180 lost one of his a little while ago and I think he replaced it with one from e-bay. He also said about it only comes part of the ally trim.

After he told me this I checked mine and saw that the passenger side one was coming out at the bottom so I stuck some strong adhesive in there with a lollypop stick wedged underneith it to seat it right and it's been fine since. Just in case anyone asks I did removed the lollypop stick once the adhesive was dry......

as speedy says, markyz180 had this problem and bought some off the bay, he ended up repairing his from the set he bought rather than a complete change over, as paul20v says, its not straight forward, im 99% sure he still has some of the pieces, so if you pm him, he might have the correct side you need.

Hi I have a similar problem with the black strip on the top of the silver surround. It has come away but there are no clips as I can see to put it back. Reading your thread, is this black strip bonded at the factory so the only way to repair it is with glue ? If so what glue did you use ?

    Many thanks

I used some black silicone adhesive when sticking one of my sides back in place.

I wedged lolly sticks under to keep the glue in contact with the aluminium and sellotape on the top as well.

I left in place for the weekend before peeling back the tape and removing the lolly sticks, it's held up for the last 3 months OK.
