A4 B5 - Can I run a sub and amp off my Symphony?

Hello all.

What is the standard head unit like? I want to keep an OE look can I run a aftermarket sub and amplifier using the standard head unit?

Yes certainly. You can even pick up the the rear pre-outs and remote on for the sub amp from the feeble little amp bolted to the left rear deck speaker, so the only additional wiring you need to run is a fused power cable from the battery. Easiest way through the bulkhead is via the ECU cover underneath the drivers wiper scuttle.n This drops down into the drivers footwell. There is a bolt at the back you can't get to but releasing all the others will allow you to prise up the cover enough to feed the cable through.
