A4 2.4 Non Start

After leaving my A4 for 3 days it refused to start. Previously it has always fired up without fail since owning it, now 1 yr 6 mths. After missing initial start it then turns over but sounds like it lacks compression. Checked cam belt, all ok, and then called v.helpful Audi mechanic. Anyone else has had a similar problem? I have now found out how to solve but have been told this is typical of the 2.4 engine!

I'm not 100% familiar with the 2.4 engine? What model of car does that come on? I have never heard of that(maybe because i'm in the states)....

The 2.4 is a V6, 165 hp, that I am told is the unbored out version of the 2.8? I think it was only ever available in the EU and I have never seen a quattro version - which would have been sweet! My next post will probably be on how to uprate it as it is normally aspirated and just a little bit dull.
