Can some of you guy's satisfy my curiosity?

I have recently replaced part of the intercooler piping as i had a bust pipe.

I did notice that the intercooler was caked in cr@p. I have cleaned it off but i seem to have a lot of oil built up in that area

Is it normal for oil to seep through the intercooler?

I will check tonight (after drilling off seized screws that are holding wheel arch liner on) what exactly the hidden parts of intercooler look like.

I am worried it might be cracked - i'll pray it's not !!

any advice and observations from other cars will be greatly appreciated.

other than masses of crud collected in the recess around the bottom it all looked ok

some engine cleaner and pressure washer brought it up like new.

fingers crossed no more concerns - other peoples comments gladly rec'd
