does your AC button on the newer unit work properly? as in when the light is on the AC is on?
Yeah had no issues at all all the buttons light up and work fine. Done the facelift buttons and facelift climate I'll get a picture for you.
Thought it was about time i got some pictures of my a3 up before the modifications start.
does the unit work perfectly though? its not the look i am worried about? its the function of the AC and the way it sends the air
Yeah perfect, All works just as well as my previous unit, picture was just to show all the lights operating okay as many as I could use anyway.
So can we come to a conclusion that facelift climate control works in Pre-07 cars ?
There are technical differences that will not allow it to function properly, it may give you the impression its working if you dont change the direction of the air via the climate buttons, but once that is changed, it will be fairly obvious.
There are no coding options for the Hvac 08, there is a basic setting option, but that wont fix this issue, as its mechanical & wiring.
Do your research before assuming something will work, I spent ages on this, checked the wiring schematics which as you can imagine are a fair few wires on each version, I even created a spreadsheet to show the differences to myself when I come to swap the heater system over.
There is no way in hell your units are working fully.
Remove the glovebox, check the 2 motors behind this which have blue plastics, the big flap thats controlled via the 2 motors will not move properly as it did on the prefacelift climate.
Sorry but you're wrong, it will not function fully.
Impossible to fully work with a 54 reg car, totally impossible, as I have tested my research on a 54 reg, you IMHO misunderstand how the climate should work & when the AC button should be lit, they didnt change climate/heater system components until mid 07, 08 onwards, so its impossible to function properly in your car, that is a fact, even ELSAWIN advises the changes after I found the issues & did some more reading.
Exactly, it wont be working as per the facelifts do, the led would be working in reverse.
No, definitely not, I have proved this on a 54 reg car myself, I can show anyone the proof if need be.
What happens is, when you initially plug it in, it will appear to work properly, but as soon as you tell it via button presses to move the big flap behind glovebox, it will be stuck after that & wont move back, given the 2nd motor isnt in use on facelifts, hence the plastic orange cam system which N8 will confirm is behind his 08 glovebox.
Ok thanks for the detailed info NHN, I didn't know the specifics thanks for clearing this up so informatively.
The KING has spoken
Bought her last weekend and finally had chance to clean and wax her, so here she is...
Tea King lmfao
Nigel is wan king.
(wan = wide area network)
Hey as you very well know, that is exactly the score when you have kids, wife now thinks intercourse is a side dish when eating out lmfao.
What is 'intercourse'?
It does ring a bell though.
What a brilliant idea, I could train her so when I ring a bell, she would know its time to do the deed, then again if anyother men had the same idea, ringing the bell could bring a whole neighbourhood of women to the door lmfao.
What a beauty
^ TimG, love it! Gutted I missed out on 2 sets of fat fives as winters. Got a set of 5 spoke rims on the way though.
vey nice, just like what i ordered but with two less doors!! is it brilliant red though and not misano??
thanks! no, its misano. It was getting pretty dark by the time the top picture was taken hence it looking a bit darker. Its nice and bright in the flesh.
