a3 Quattro Haldex unit

hi,

I have an A3 55 plate 2.0 tdi quattro and having had my car looked at due to the ESP light being on and I have been told I need a new Haldex unit for the car.

Had the car from new and its a good spec but has done 130k

The car is driveable but all the power is going to the front and if I give it any right foot the car just wheel spins.

I have been quoted approx 2k to get this fixed.Too much?

I have also been told there is not much chance of a second hand unit doing the job as it may not be "reprogrammable" to my car as its from another vehicle and will have a different code?

Any help/advise would be much appreciated

Where abouts are you. If you could get someone local to you to scan your car with VCDS and find out what the fault codes are on you haldex unit then you will have a better understanding of what is wrong with your car.

It could be something as easy and as simple as a bad connection or as major as a whole unit.
