Hi guys,I have a hard wire lead for my tomtom which in my old car I think I attached to the back of the cigarette lighter. Is the same approach ok for the A3 and if so does anyone know a guide to accessing the rear of the lighter?!Cheers!

    Yup this is fine.

The cigarette lighter just clips out of place so you'll be able to access the wiring there.

You could also use a spare fuse point on fuses 1-11 which are ignition fed as such.

Great, that might be even better, how would I wire to a empty fuse connector?

Just get a repair wire from audi for that fuse point & push into the spare socket on fuses 1-11 & solder/heatshrink your hardwired end to that wire, then plum a fuse in, it should already have the car power bar side in place for 1-11 anyway so just the hardware end to add :)
