A3 coilovers repair/wanted

I bought a set of second hand jamex coilovers some months ago and has a chance sunday to fit them. So got the back on easily, went to do the front only to find one of the shocks is f**k, my fault not checking them when buying
1.Can they be rebuilt and how much?
2.If not can i use coilovers on the rear and lowering springs on front safely

If someone has a front adjustable shock or a pair ill be interested, thanks

Ive got the back decked and the front standard at the moment

depends what the problem is with the front shock.. does it leak fluid or are the adjuster rings siezed or physical damage to the strut?
