Hi all,

I picked up an Audi A3 S-Line Quattro last Thursday and love it. The only thing that is annoying me is that the plastic chrome trim that goes around the steering wheel is scratched and slightly discoloured in one area.

I've been doing a lot of research on this and the only fix seems to be to buy a new airbag. On eBay they're going between £150-£200 but I really don't want to pay that much just to have the chrome trim fixed.

Is there any way this can be refurbished/painted? I can't seem to find anyone willing to do it.

Hope someone can help.

By the way, I don't even mind rubbing down the whole chrome effect but I don't know actually know whats underneath it.

theres always a few covers on ebay

I bought my cover for £80 I think but it is rivetted onto the airbag (hence why I haven't bothered trying to install it yet lol)

I've read this is the reason why its always best to buy a new airbag lol.

If only you could refurb the trim. Would be so much cheaper.
