a3 8l tdi 110 se ?

    hi all, on the look out for one of these tractors, been given an a4 b5 with a 110 engine in it and the economy is crazy

    is anyone aware of any potential problems that are common on these ? anyone know what boost they should run at in standard form ? and what boost when mapped ? will vcds the car, just looking for some pointers, caill will certainly have 150,000+ miles on the clock, in some cases as much as 200,000

    not interested in any of the PD engines for cost reasons, car needs to be cheap and cheerful and the 110's can be bought for under £1200

    Not much goes wrong with the AFN, same as most, oil coolers split, they have a VNT (some do) so check that isnt coked up causing an over boost issue, they will prob have a DMF so check that, apart from that they are good strong engines

    Although the PD is a great engine and if looked after is a more refind engine but thats just my opinion
