Nah, I'm still not interested in doing that.
I simply can't be arsed with arranging my own insurance, roadtax, repairs etc.
The pool of pish that is DSG has just made me extra careful when choosing subsequent company cars.
TBH, if I'd made a massive fuss about the A3, the company would probably have got rid.
As it is, I've just had other, higher, priorities and the A3 has just become unloved 'transport'.

    Lease paperwork being done now.
Around 4-6 weeks after that, I think.
Probably just in time for snow, knowing my luck.
Rear wheel drive and 265 tyres...:scared2:

Don't worry guys, not forgotten you. Im still waiting to have the part fitted... or in fact for them to call me to arrange for it to be booked in. But I'm confident we'll get there in the end!

The garage took mine in to change the control unit, but started by re-setting the gearbox to see if that improved things. After that, they could no longer get it to exhibit the fault behaviour, so they asked me to try the car again and see if the problem re-appeared; it did within 2 days so they are going to have it for a full week to see if they can get it to error again and if they can then they will replace the unit.

I'll let you know how it develops.

Car is currently on it's 3rd and last day of testing after having the unit fitted, as it stands I know nothing.

However tonight I should get it back and then I will let you know after having driven it for a day or so... should know more then.

    Fingers crossed...

I have all those problems but they get better when the car is warm.

I also had intermittent loss of drive such that you had to stop switch off and switch back on again to fix it. Audi said it was a known problem due to a solenoid sticking open circuit. they also said there was a software fix written to solve the problem.........and then charged me £200 to update the software !!
You would think if it was a known problem that they had worked out a fix for they wouldn't charge you for it after just 21k miles !!

If its any help, they lent me a new car 100 miles on the clock and its DSG was worse than mine ...lol

Just to add to this thread, my mechatronic control unit has been changed and I have also slightly changed the way I use the 'box. Basically, I used to coast to a stop in neutral, now I keep in gear.

Short story: the gearbox is now spot on with no shunts or unruly behavior.

    Cheers,
    Dan
