The main difference you will find is the way the quattro grips ! They are heavy cars(1500Kg+) and the gearing is a bit weird (long first and 2nd gear) but you will love the relentless pull once the car is at 30-40Mph and when overtaking at high speed on motorways. Another thing that will shock you is the fuel consumption....Other than that is maintenance as ussual bar a very expensive cambelt job and potential injector pump problems !
Show me a v6 petrol wich does 45Mpg on the motorway ! People think just because its a diesel it has to be ecconomical as well ?! You buy a v6 diesel for refinement and grunt and because you're a cheapskate(like me!) who cannot live with 20+ Mpg a s4 achieves ! If you want fuel ecconomy, keep the a3 !
